Jordanian SMEs expand into Saudi market through USAID – supported initiative

Sixteen small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from Jordan’s service sector have successfully expanded into the Saudi market as part of the “Exporting Services to the Saudi Market” initiative, funded by USAID Business Growth Activity,  with technical support from Beyond Consulting.

The initiative included businesses from the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), training, consulting services, and logistics sectors. It aimed at helping Jordanian service providers tap into new opportunities in Saudi Arabia.

The initiative has significantly expanded the regional footprint of Jordanian SMEs, positioning them as competitive players in one of the Middle East’s most dynamic economies. It also fostered stronger commercial ties between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, laying the groundwork for future business ventures and growth.

The initiative played a key role in driving success for the SMEs, facilitating the closure of business deals for six companies and securing partnership agreements for two others. Additionally, it led to more than 120 business development interventions, leading to 11 deals and five high-impact strategic partnerships. The project generated an export value of SAR 1.7 million, demonstrating its significant impact.

The “Exporting Services to the Saudi Market” initiative has strengthened the presence of Jordanian service providers in the Saudi market, enhancing their reputation as reliable business partners. By fostering long-term market connections and building robust relationships, Jordanian SMEs are now better equipped to navigate regional markets and expand their operations beyond borders.

As Jordanian businesses capitalize on their foothold in Saudi Arabia, the initiative is expected to drive ongoing economic cooperation and mutual growth between the two countries.
